MELVILLE (MEL) SPEER June 28, 1916 - February 21, 2010 It is with deep sadness that the family of Mel announce his passing at Donwood Personal Care Home at the age of 93. Mel was predeceased by his wife Rose, parents Richard and Annie, two brothers Frank and Willie, and five sisters Nellie, Olive, Ethel, Gerty and Mabel. Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters Ruby and Hazel, sister-in-law June and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mel worked on the family farm for many years then went to work with his brother Frank on the Alaskan Highway. He returned home and worked at Building Products for 27 years until he retired. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Donwood Personal Care Home for taking such good care of him and for the kindness they extended to his family. If desired, donations may be made in memory of Mel to Donwood Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2G 2H9. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
